Fly fishing the texas coast

The Texas coast between Port O'Conner and Rockport offers excellent opportunities to sight cast for redfish, as well as occasional shots at black drum, speckled trout, and sheepshead. Sight fishing with a fly on the coast is one the most challenging types of fishing. Therefore, it is recommended to have some experience with fly fishing. You can bring your own equipment or our I can provide rods and flies. Full day and half day trips are available. Click here to book a trip.

Fishing for Bass in Central Texas & the Texas Hill Country

For bass, I currently only guide the Lower Colorado River. However, I have several guides available from my guide service, All Water Guides, who can take you fishing in Central Texas on spring-fed Hill Country rivers. We offer trips on the Lower Colorado River, Llano River, South Llano River, San Marcos River and Upper Guadalupe River. Most of our rivers depend on adequate rains to float, but there usually a couple to choose from. These rivers are crystal clear and we hardly ever see another fisherman. The best months for bass are February through November.

All Water Guides also books trip for the Lower Guadalupe River for trout. The best months for trout are December through April, with January and February peak season. Expect more people on the Guadalupe River during peak season.

Multi-boat and/or multi-day trips are an option for bass or trout.  Trips include rods and flies, and plenty of water. A trip with a guide from All Water Guides (not with Alvin) is $600 for a full day, $525 for a 3/4-day, and $450 for a half day. All of our trips, whether with Alvin or another guide, accommodate 1 or 2 fishermen, and the cost is for the boat.
